Media Accreditation

By applying for Media Accreditation, you agree to all terms and conditions outlined below.
Accreditation by Drifting SA is independent of any track owner or event organiser. Final decisions regarding media access rest with the Clerk of the Course (or Senior Track Marshall) at each event. Accredited personnel acknowledge the inherent risks of motorsport, including injury, death, or property damage.

Benefits of Accreditation

– Insurance coverage under RACERS (Public Liability & Personal Accident) — valid only upon signing the event disclaimer.

– Official recognition as a Drifting SA Accredited Photographer/Media.

– Representation via the Media Accreditation Sub-Committee to address concerns or suggest improvements.

Briefing & Event Conduct

All Drifting SA Accredited Photographers/Media must attend the designated media briefing before each event. If a separate media briefing is not held, attendance at the Driver’s Briefing is mandatory. Late arrivals will be treated as General Admission attendees until briefed and cleared by the Clerk of the Course or Senior Track Marshal.

Accredited media are required to follow all directions given by the Clerk of the Course or Senior Track Marshal. Failure to comply may result in the immediate loss of media privileges and possible suspension of accreditation.

Use Of Images

Images captured at events may be used by Drifting SA for promotional purposes under its constitution.
While attribution will be attempted where possible, it is not guaranteed.

Levels of Accreditation

There are two levels of Drifting SA Photographer and Media Accreditation. First time applicants may choose to apply for Level 2 accreditation only. However, the Media Sub-Committee reserves the right to determine the appropriate level of accreditation for successful applicants.

Level 2 Accreditation

Level 2 accreditation is the base entry-level category and indicates that the photographer or media personnel are competent and active at local club and state level motorsport events. Typically, the photographer or media personnel will focus mainly on servicing their local motorsport community including clubs, competitors, event organisers, local media outlets and social network sites.

Level 1 Accreditation

Level 1 accreditation indicates that the photographer/media personnel is competent, experienced and active as a motor sport photographer/media personnel and displays a higher degree of professionalism in a commercial sense that their work is currently being published by third parties. The photographer/media personnel will need to show venue operators, event organizers or promoters at events that they have an assignment which requires their presence and appropriate privileges in accordance with their accreditation.

Selection Criteria – Level 1

Applicants must:
– Show strong ability in creating high-quality images, video, or articles that showcase the sport.
– Demonstrate professional standards equivalent to major motorsport publications.
– Provide evidence of motorsport experience through a variety of past work.
– Include examples of published work (e.g. magazines, websites, newspapers).
– Supply references confirming quality and professionalism.
– Use professional-grade equipment.

Will Chamberlain is the dedicated volunteer who leads Drifting SA’s media accreditation efforts, ensuring all media at our events are properly credentialed. Separately, Will also heads up our livestream crew, ensuring that drift fans from all over can experience the action live. We appreciate Will so much for his passion for motorsport, commitment to helping at events, and seriously talented photography skills. When he’s not behind a camera, Will can often be found enjoying a good red wine.
