Driver Options
Drifting SA hosts a variety of events for all skill levels throughout the year. Our events are run by volunteers on weekends, with event details and entry information released approximately 4 weeks before each event. Check out our Events Calendar below for a complete schedule.
A RACERS Clubman licence is required to drive. Drifting SA membership is optional but saves you money and supports future events. The minimum driver age is 14. If you’re under 18, you’ll need to contact us for prior approval before entering and agree to have a parent/guardian present.
We have two types of Drift Schools (where you bring your own car). Drift School at the Bend Skidpan, as well Super School at Mallala which includes both the Main Track & Skidpan.
Both schools have different courses include:
Beginner: Donuts and figure-8s (wet)
Advanced: Drift entries, tandem driving, and more (dry)
Vehicle Requirements:
Rear-wheel drive car with a non-open differential.
A helmet.
We run regular ‘Freestyle / Practice Events for drivers to improve their skills in a low-pressure setting where there’s no judging or expectations.
Our signature freestyle events at the Bend, WINTERFEST and LOCKTOBERFEST, offer multiple, exciting drift layouts, with driving groups to suit different skill levels. These jam-packed events also include skidpan sessions when available, giving drivers plenty of opportunities to refine their techniques.
We host the SA State Series, featuring two competition levels: L2 for newcomers looking to build confidence, and L1 for experienced drivers ready for a higher challenge. Supplementary regulations are sent out before each event.
National level Drift Collective is set for 7 March 2026 at the Bend.
